Ocean temperatures in Cabo very drastically throughout the year.  However, the changes in temperature provide for the existance of on the most unique underwater environments in the world.  September through December the water ranges from 80 to 90 degrees (f).  January through April the water temperatures fall to between 65 to 80 degrees (f).  In May, the Ocean can reach temperatures as low as 58 degrees, however, this temeperature brings crystal clear water and large species close to shore.  June through August the water temperature rises quickly to the upper eighties.  Please contact us for more specific information.

What equipment should we bring?

What can I expect for visibility?  Do you drift dive?

Ocean visibility in Cabo ranges from 30' to over 100', there is no set formula for knowing when visibility will be optimium.  Know that the colder months bring Plankton and vast numbers of microscopic organisms that cloud visibility, but this activity also brings in whales and other forms of large Pelagic life.  The worst days in Cabo will still provide a minimum of 25 ' to 30' visibility.  Also, after seasonal rain storms the fresh water run-off will effect visibilty for up to one week, sometimes reducing our visible range to less than 10'.  Please contact us for specific information before scheduling your diving adventures.

Should I make a reservation directly with the shop or in the hotel?

Unfortunately the reality in Mexico is that large corporations pay very meager wages to the common workers.  For this reason and at no fault of their own hotel employees rely heavily on attempts to route hotel guests to activity providers that are willing to pay the most in return for work.  Usually it is the poorest quality operations that are willing to pay the most.  In the end, the tourist pays the difference in lack of quality and a poor experience.  All too often we receive reports that Cabo San Lucas is not a good place for diving.  Please take a look at our photos and read through our site.  The Sea of Cortez and Cabo San Lucas is known by experts in Scuba Diving and Marine Biology as a true wonder of the world.  Please do no allow yourself to be misled, book your diving in Cabo San Lucas directly with your dive shop.  Be it our shop or another make sure your all your dollars go to your service.

Do you work with cruise ship lines?

We do not have contracts with any of the cruise ship lines and do not plan to in the future.  The cruise ships bring large crowds.  Although great for the local t-shirt vendors and restaurants, a large crowd on a diving boat is a recipe for disaster.  The numbers are hard to manage, too many people without supervision causes tremendous damage to dive sites and the quality of diving decreases because most of the life is frightened away before all the divers are in the water.  We are happy to provide scuba diving services for those cruise ship travelers looking for a premium experience at a great price.  Book in advance, last time we checked the cruise ships had even blocked our website from their servers to force patrons to their partnering operations.
